Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Sail Club mobile application and website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to all of these terms, do not use our services.

2. Description of Service

Sail Club provides a digital platform for the global maritime community, including Skipper CV creation, boat management, crew matchmaking, and regatta tracking. We act as a facilitator and are not a party to any agreements or disputes between boat owners and crew members.

3. User Accounts

To use certain features, you must register for an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information.
• Maintain the security of your password and accept all risks of unauthorized access.
• Promptly update your account information to keep it accurate.
• Be responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

Consent at sign-up. Creating an account requires your explicit acceptance of these Terms of Service and of our Privacy Policy, given through separate, unticked checkboxes during sign-up. An account is not created without this acceptance.

Record of consent. We keep a record of each acceptance — your account, the document accepted, the document version (shown at the top of each document, e.g. terms-of-service@2026-08-27) and the time of acceptance — so that we can demonstrate compliance with applicable data-protection law.

Updated terms. When we publish a new version of these Terms or of the Privacy Policy, we will ask you to review and accept the new version the next time you sign in. If you do not accept, you may not be able to continue using the App, and you may delete your account as described in Section 8.

4. Boat & Crew Matchmaking

Users are responsible for verifying the qualifications, licenses, and insurance of any boat or crew member they connect with through the App. Sail Club does not conduct background checks or verify the sailing expertise claimed by users.

6. User Content

You retain ownership of the photos and data you upload. However, by posting content, you grant Sail Club a worldwide, non-exclusive license to use, display, and distribute that content to provide our services (e.g., showing your boat profile in search results).

You are solely responsible for the content you post, upload, or transmit through the App, including messages, photos, and profile information. Content must not violate applicable laws or these Terms.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to use the platform to:

• Post, transmit, or share content that is hateful, harassing, threatening, discriminatory, sexually explicit, or violent.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
• Upload malware, spam, or any content that could disrupt or damage the platform.
• Use the platform for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.

7a. Content Moderation

Sail Club provides tools for users to report content or other users that they believe violate these Terms. You may report a message, image, or user profile directly within the App using the report function.

We also provide a blocking feature that allows you to prevent a specific user from contacting you or seeing your content.

Sail Club reserves the right to review reported content and, at its sole discretion, to remove content that violates these Terms, temporarily restrict a user's ability to post, or permanently suspend or terminate a user's account. We are not obligated to monitor all content but will act on valid reports in good faith.

8. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from within the App (My Account → Preferences → Account → Delete Account) or by e-mail as described on our Data Deletion page. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Deleting your account removes your personal data from our active systems. Sporting records that form part of published regatta results (for example a finishing position) are retained in anonymised form as part of the public race record and are no longer linked to you.

9. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Turkiye, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
