1. Your Right to Data Deletion

At Sail Club, we respect your privacy and your right to control your personal data. If you no longer wish to use our services, you have the right to request the complete deletion of your account and all associated personal information from our databases.

2. How to Delete Your Data Within the App

The fastest and most secure way to delete your account and data is directly through the Sail Club mobile application. Please follow these steps:

  1. Open the Sail Club app and log in to your account.
  2. Navigate to your profile by tapping the "My Account" icon in the bottom navigation bar.
  3. Tap the Menu icon (three dots or lines) in the top right corner of the screen.
  4. Select "Preferences" (Ayarlar) from the dropdown menu.
  5. Scroll down to the "Account" (Hesap) section.
  6. Tap on "Close Account" (Hesabı Kapat) and follow the on-screen confirmation prompts to permanently delete your data.

3. How to Request Data Deletion via Email

If you no longer have access to the app, you can request manual data deletion by contacting our support team. Please follow these steps:

  • Send an email to engin@sailracingclub.com.
  • Use the subject line: "Account Deletion Request".
  • Include the email address associated with your Sail Club account and your full name.
  • Our team will process your request and permanently remove your data within 7-14 business days. You will receive a confirmation email once the process is complete.

4. What Happens When Your Data is Deleted?

Once the deletion process is initiated, the following data will be permanently removed from our active servers and third-party services (Firebase, Meilisearch):

  • Your personal profile (Name, World Sailing ID, Contact Info, Avatar).
  • Your linked boats and measurement certificates (IRC/ORC).
  • Your upcoming regatta registrations and crew matchmaking requests.
  • Your authentication credentials (Google, Apple, Facebook OAuth links).

*Note: Some anonymized data related to past official race results may be retained for historical archiving purposes, as it is part of public regatta records. However, this data will no longer be linked to your personal user account.
