ORC import
The panel can import two different things from ORC's public data pages: an entry list (boats, into an event) and a race results page (finish times, into one race). They're separate actions, don't confuse them.
Entry list import (Entries tab, or the setup wizard)
- Paste the ORC entry list URL (
https://data.orc.org/public/WEV.dll?action=entries&eventid=...). - Fetch & Parse — the panel reads it and tries to match each row against your fleet database, by sail number first, then by name.
- Review the summary: matched by sail no / matched by name / not found. Unmatched boats are created as provisional entries without a fleet profile link unless you fix the match first.
- Complete Import — upserts the rows: existing entries are updated, new ones created.
Race results import (a race's Scoring tab → Import from ORC)
- Paste the address of that race's ORC results page (
...&action=race&eventid=...&raceid=...— a single race page, not an event index). - Preview first — it writes nothing, just shows what would happen: new finishes, finishes that would be replaced, and unmatched rows.
- If boats already have a hand-entered finish in this race, importing replaces it — read the overwrite warning before applying.
- If the race already has an official result, you must explicitly acknowledge that the import changes the finishes behind it.
- Write rows to apply. Afterwards, recalculate on the Scoring/Official Results tab to see the new ranking — the import itself doesn't recalculate for you.
Common problems
- "The page's ORC class is not bound to any division" — bind the ORC class to a division in the import wizard first.
- "No start group for that class" — create the start group before importing; the import doesn't create one for you.
- Not a valid results/entries page — double check you copied the specific race or entries address, not an event index page.
