Special categories

Special Categories (event page → More menu) create an isolated scoring pool for a sub-fleet — for example "University", "Women", or "Double Handed". Only boats tagged with the category are ranked (and penalized for DNC) within it; the rest of the fleet is ignored for that ranking.

This is different from a division (every boat belongs to exactly one division) and from an overall group (which pools whole divisions) — a special category cuts across divisions and only includes the boats you tag.

Steps

  1. Open the event, More → Special Categories.
  2. Create Category: name it, optionally set a display title/description.
  3. Choose the eligible divisions — only boats in those divisions can be tagged with this category.
  4. Save, then tag qualifying boats with the category from their entry.
